In-home Private Lessons At Your Convenience

If your dog is easily distracted or reactive around other dogs or people, private lessons would be very beneficial!  A group class may be too stressful and distracting for you both, making it hard  to start working with them during the lesson. If you are not focused and confident, your dog will not be either.  Individual lessons starting with little to no distractions are a great way to set them up to succeed, and help you gain the confidence needed, setting yourself up to succeed as well!

Lessons:

The first lesson is 2 hours. Additional lessons are 60 minutes and can be taken one at a time or  with a package option.

Services

*All training is positive reinforcement:

Teaching dogs what to do, not punishing them for what we don't want them to do!

*Puppy Beginner Training (5 months and under)
Training should start right away when you bring your puppy home. We work on the beginning cues- sit, stay, down, leave it, touch, focus, strengthening their name, starting off on the leash, and how to prevent and manage all of the unwanted puppy behaviors.

*Basic Obedience (6 months and up)
Work more on building the cues, adding distractions and distance to the recall, stay and wait, place, drop it, jumping and much more!  We work on every day manners, for example,  greeting guests at the door, how to behave at the pet store or when company is over. Loose leash walking and any unwanted behaviors (lunging, barking...)

*Advanced Obedience
These lessons are great for anyone wanting to prepare to take the Canine Good Citizen Test(CGC)  Thinking of having your dog be an ESA or Service Dog? Maybe your dog excels at obedience training, here's a fun way to set some goals towards programs like Paws for Love or agiliand enjoy watching your dog thrive off the advanced level of skill.

*Rescue Dogs: I specialize in working with Rescue Dogs, having done so for many years, including all of my dogs like our Henry. There are many different situations I encounter when working with them, and sometimes a little thinking outside the box is just what is needed! Whether they have had training or it appears they have had none at all, together we figure out a plan, and you'll see how rewarding it truly is to adopt a Rescue Dog and be amazed at what they have to offer no matter what they may have gone through!

*Aggression Management/Behavior Modification (6 months and up)
These lessons are for any dog that is showing signs of separation anxiety, resource guarding, excessive jumping and barking, mouthing, attempting to bite or has already, and more.
We talk about to what degree these behaviors are at and start working on a treatment plan. This is modification work, and involves a different techniques. I explain the reason we are using a technique, how it works and why. I provide handouts specific to your dogs behaviors and how to manage them during the week.

REMEMBER...Your Dog Isn't Giving You A Hard Time, Your Dog Is Having A Hard Time.

I will help you help your dog, and build the confidence you need for both of you to succeed!
